Are you hunched over most of the time? Starting to feel the effects of the pandemic in your body, maybe in your neck? How are you sitting right now?Join Temmi and Ilana next Saturday for a great Tech Neck Workshop to develop greater awareness of your posture and learn strategies to heal issues!
Long days spent hunched over the computer, smartphone and tablet due to the pandemic, and more screen time than ever has resulted in an increase in poor posture with worsened upper back pain and stiffness, localized shoulder pain, neck pain, muscle spasms, headaches and increased stress on the spine. Even kids are prone to all of these symptoms because of e-learning and other screen time.
The Goals of this Workshop:
Experience release and relief of areas of discomfort or pain
Develop greater awareness of your posture, including your WFH setup
Learn specific asanas or postures to do throughout the day to relieve neck, upper back and shoulder tension
In this Workshop you will learn:
Proper alignment of your head, neck and spine for optimum function
Identify bad postural habits
Improve your posture
Counteract the patterns of tech neck
Learn strategies to heal neck problems
Stretch and strengthen upper back and neck muscles and anterior shoulders
Release physical tension
Practise optimum yoga postures for postural health
Restore freedom of movement... Motion is lotion!!
The weight on our neck and spine dramatically increases when we tilt our head forward. When our head is positioned at neutral position it weighs 10-12 pounds. And when you bend it forward 15 degrees it weighs 27 pounds. And at 45 degrees, your neck weighs 49 pounds...

No previous yoga experience is necessary and all ages can participate. Workshop fee includes all family members.

As we continue to manage and navigate the enormity and uncertainty of the pandemic, it is more important than ever to prioritize your self-care. This series offers you the very powerful and transformative healing practice to help you cope with these challenging times. This special 4-part yoga series will provide you with concrete tools to cope with COVID-19. It will guide you to soothe fears, anxiety, sadness and other responses you may be experiencing. Each class will have a different theme to help you to manage the pandemic and your physical, emotional and mental states.

The positive effects of each practise and the residue of the poses will help to:
Calm the nervous system
Feel more grounded and centered
Increase resilience, hopefulness, and wellbeing
Temmi is a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals and has been practicing yoga since 1984. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, CIYT, and a Certified Yoga Therapist, C-IAYT. In 1990, Temmi was trained in Critical Incidents and Trauma Debriefing and is certified in Sensory-Enhanced Yoga for Self-Regulation and Trauma Healing. Temmi is a registered Art Therapist, ATR, with the American Art Therapy Association and is a freelance artist and calligrapher. Learn more about Temmi here.
